APPRENTICESHIP

The second stage in the Mastery process. In this stage, the individual develops the focus, discipline, and skills necessary to become a master in his or her field of interest.

An ideal apprenticeship, according to Robert Greene, has three modes: Passive Mode, where an apprentice is just absorbing the rules of his environment; Practice Mode, where an apprentice is developing his or her skills; and Active Mode, where an apprentice is developing his or her creative powers, sharing his or her work with others and finding gaps in knowledge.
